Joe Niamtu, III DMD is a double boarded certified cosmetic facial surgeon with a passion for his profession.  He is considered a Key Opinion Leader my numerous specialties and is a surgeon, author and teacher.  He has authored 7 textbooks, contributed 34 chapters in other textbooks and has published hundreds of articles on cosmetic surgery.  He has lectured on six continents and has taught an annual live cosmetic facial surgery course in Richmond, Virginia for the past 20 years: teaching surgeons from all over the world.  Dr. Niamtu is well known for his intra-specialty participation and is a frequent speaker at multispecialty cosmetic surgery meetings.  He has won “Best Cosmetic Surgeon” 35 times in Virginia.

Dr. Niamtu is married to April Niamtu and has two special needs children.

The art of Facelift

Cervical facial rhytidectomy is the ultimate cosmetic facial procedure.  It cannon be disguised by clothing and carries significant physical and emotional impact.  Due to this reason surgeons must be very experienced and precise for patient safety and predictable outcomes. Face and neck lip surgery can be tailored for beginners intermediate and advanced surgeons based on proper patient selection.  This lecture will cover the basis of face and neck lift surgery and include beginning and intermediate techniques.

Ancillary Facial Cosmetic Procedures

The cosmetic treatment of the face and neck can be broken down into upper face, mid face, lower face and skin. There are numerous procedures that can benefit each of these areas in combination with facelift surgery or as free standing procedures. This lecture will detail upper and lower blepharoplasty, brow lifting, cheek and plants, chin implants, face and neck lift, and laser skin resurfacing. All of these procedures can separately improve the facial appearance but when combined can have more synergistic impact.

MASTERCLASS: Deep dive into Deep Plane Facelift

As a continuum of “The Art of Facelift” lecture, this presentation will be focused on the advanced topic of deep plane face and neck lift.  This multimedia presentation will detail the differences between deep plane lifting and conventional lifting which includes pertinent anatomy and surgical approaches.  This talk will also cover deep neck lifting techniques such as superficial and deep fat reduction, as well as platysma, digastric muscle reduction and submandibular gland reduction.
