Facial Feminization Surgery: lessons learned after 15 years.

Abstarct:

Facial feminization surgery includes those procedures aimed at softening and reducing characteristic male features by reversing the effect of testosterone during craniofacial differentiation. We describe the lessons learned from 15 years of exclusive work in this discipline and more than 2500 patients treated in procedures such as fronto-nasal-orbital reconstruction, rhinoplasty, jaw and/or chin contouring, or cervico-facial lifting. Some tips for diagnosing and planning these patients, surgical pearls to enhance your results and avoid complications and new trends in FFS are revealed, summarising the current state of the art of this subspecialty.
