Aesthetic facial diagnosis

Abstract

Facial aesthetics is cited as the main concern in most surgical patients. Hence, aesthetic considerations must play a pivotal role in orthognathic surgery, where the goal is to not only correct functional jaw discrepancies but also to enhance facial harmony and balance. This lecture focuses on the principles and methodologies used to assess and plan facial aesthetics in the context of surgical intervention. The lecture will cover the key elements of facial analysis, including vertical analysis, symmetry, and facial projection, which are critical for achieving optimal aesthetic results. Attendees will be introduced to the Barcelona line as an adjunctive tool to reposition the maxillo-mandibular complex

Masterclass: Low Impact Orthognathic Surgery

Abstract

Low Impact Orthognathic Surgery (LIOS) represents a progressive approach in the field of corrective jaw surgery, designed to enhance patient outcomes by minimizing the physical, psychological, and aesthetic impact of the surgical process. This lecture delves into the principles, techniques, and benefits of LIOS, highlighting its role in revolutionizing traditional orthognathic procedures. By incorporating precise perioperative management, advanced 3D planning, and less invasive interventions, LIOS focuses on reducing operative trauma, preserving soft tissue integrity, and shortening recovery times. Key topics will include innovations in minimally invasive surgical techniques and enhanced post-operative care protocols that contribute to decreased swelling, reduced post-surgical discomfort, and improved patient satisfaction. The goal is to provide attendees with an understanding of how low impact strategies can be effectively incorporated into practice, enhancing both patient experience and surgical efficiency.
